Mallappally Town
St. Habel of Kaipetta (May 5, 1816 – August 18, 1899) was a convert from Hinduism to Christianity, the first convert from the Chera Dynasty of Kerala.
Habel was born in Kaipatta Village, near Tiruvalla. Following Baptism, he learned theology from Europeans and traveled far and wide establishing congregations and churches and spreading the Gospel of Christ to thousands of people who took Baptisms and joined the Church. People revered him as a Saint.
Habel died at the age of 84 on August 18, 1899. Bishop Edward Noel Hodges attended his funeral. On September 6, 2003, ArchbishopStephen Vattappara of the Anglican Church of India declared him as a Saint. A church in the Village of Kaipatta is named after him.

Mallappally Manimala River


Mallappally is a taluk in Pathanamthitta district of Kerala state, India. The major religions of the population are Christianity and Hinduism. The Kizhakkedath Sree Subramanya Temple at Mallappally is of note. The Thrikkarthika is celebrated in this temple


Mallappally Bridge

Manimala River has its origin on the Muthavara Hills near Peermade in Idukki district of Kerala. The river passes through the districts ofKottayam, Pathanamthitta and finally joins the Pamba River at Muttar in Alappuzha district.[1] Erumeli, Manimala, Mallappally, Thuruthicad, Vennikkulam, Kaviyoor, Kalloppara, Thalavadi, Kozhimukku, Mundakayam, Kanjirappally and Champakkulam lies on the banks of Manimala River. It has a length of 92 km.
It is an important water way of Central Travancore. Rising in the hills of Kottayam-Idukki ranges, the river flows through the midland plains and joins with Pampa and Manimala junction. The river offers a beautiful view at this spot and flows swiftly striking against the many rocks in the river
